We want you to love what you order. If something’s not right, here’s how returns and refunds work — fair, clear, and within UK consumer law. No faff.
1. Your cancellation rights
Under UK consumer law, you have a 14-day right to cancel most online purchases from the day you receive your order. You then have a further 14 days to send the item back.
- Items must be unused and in original condition — same as you received them.
- Keep your order confirmation or receipt. We need proof you bought it from us, not from a car boot in Stockport.
- To cancel, email megs@megslocks.co.uk with your order number and what you’re returning.
2. What we can’t take back
- Opened, worn or used hair accessories, beads, cuffs, or similar hygiene items
- Items not in original condition, damaged by you, or missing parts
- Custom or made-to-order pieces — unless faulty (we’ll say so at purchase where that applies)
- Items returned after the cancellation window without our agreement
Handmade items may vary slightly from photos — colours and details can differ a touch. That’s the charm of handcrafted, not a fault.
3. Faulty or damaged on arrival
If your order arrives faulty or damaged, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos. We’ll sort it — repair, replace or refund, whichever is fairest.
Don’t wait three weeks and then tell us the postie sat on it. The sooner we know, the sooner we fix it.
4. How to return an item
- Email megs@megslocks.co.uk with your order number and reason for return.
- We’ll confirm whether the return is accepted and give you return instructions.
- Pack items securely — Royal Mail has been known to have opinions about loose beads in a jiffy bag.
- Send to the address we provide. Keep proof of postage.
Please don’t send returns to the tattoo studio without asking first — Meg might not be in, and the post room isn’t ours.
5. Return postage
- Change of mind (you just don’t want it): return postage is on you.
- Faulty or wrong item sent by us: we’ll cover reasonable return postage or arrange a replacement.
Original delivery charges are non-refundable on change-of-mind returns, except where the whole order is returned or the law says otherwise.
6. Refunds
Once we receive and inspect your return:
- We’ll email you to confirm we’ve got it.
- Approved refunds go back to your original payment method within 14 days of us receiving the goods (or you providing evidence you sent them, whichever is sooner).
- Bank processing can take a few extra days — that’s your bank, not us dragging our feet.
If you haven’t seen your refund after a reasonable wait, check with your bank first, then contact us with your order number.
7. Exchanges
We don’t do automatic swaps. If you need a different size, colour or item, return the original (if eligible) and place a new order — or email us and we’ll advise. Faulty items can be exchanged for the same product where stock allows.
8. Delivery issues
- Wrong address? We can’t help if you gave us the wrong one. Double-check at checkout.
- Lost in transit? Contact us — we’ll investigate with the carrier and sort it out.
- UK delivery only for now. International returns are a nightmare we’re not set up for yet.
9. Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy affects your legal rights as a consumer under UK law. If goods are faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose, you have rights that go beyond this page — including repair, replacement or refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
